Privacy Policy

This policy describes what information a private reference resource may receive from visitors, the limited ways that information is used, and the choices available to visitors. It does not describe the separate privacy practices of courts, the Wilson County Clerk of Superior Court, Portal, or any other linked service.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search queries

Text entered into a third-party search widget is processed by the provider that operates that widget. This resource does not maintain a court-docket database or keep the search terms entered into those tools.

Messages and contact submissions

If a visitor sends a message, the message and the contact information supplied with it may be retained to respond and maintain the conversation. It is not sold or disclosed outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Data We Gather Automatically

Routine service and security logs can receive technical information generated by a visit.

  • IP address and approximate routing information
  • Browser, operating system, and device details
  • Pages requested, referring source, and timestamps
  • General activity used to diagnose performance or security problems

Cookies and analytics

Cookies or similar tools may help measure page use and basic performance. Browser controls can limit cookies, although some functions may respond differently after they are blocked.

What We Do With This Data

Technical and voluntarily supplied information may be used to operate the resource, protect it from misuse, respond to messages, evaluate page performance, and deliver or measure advertising. It is not compiled into reports about other people or their court matters.

No Court-Record Data on File

Wilson County Court Docket does not host, maintain, sell, or compile court files, case histories, hearing calendars, or personal case-record databases. Public court access is governed by the official court and clerk channels. For example, G.S. 7A-109 addresses clerk-maintained court records, and North Carolina Portal and the Wilson County Clerk remain separate systems from this private resource.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside providers may operate search widgets or advertising services. Their collection, use, retention, and disclosure rules are governed by their own notices. Review those notices before providing information through an outside tool.

Links to Other Websites

Links to the North Carolina Judicial Branch, Portal, the clerk, statutes, and other sources leave this resource. The destination operator controls the new visit and its privacy practices. Advertising partners may also conduct their own tracking under their policies.

Who Might See Your Data

Access can be provided to service providers that host, secure, analyze, advertise for, or support the resource, and to government authorities when a valid legal obligation requires it. Personal information is not sold.

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used for information received by the resource. Internet transmission and storage cannot be guaranteed completely secure, so visitors should avoid sending sensitive information unless necessary.

Users Under 18

This resource is intended for adults. It does not knowingly seek personal information from children under 18. If such information is believed to have been provided, contact the operator so it can be reviewed and removed where appropriate.

Your Data Rights

Visitors may ask about personal information held in connection with a direct message, request correction of inaccurate contact information, or seek deletion where applicable. Questions about official Wilson County court records are different: the courts and clerk apply North Carolina court-record access rules, including the limits on confidential records, rather than this policy.

Updates to This Policy

Updates will appear on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use after a revision is subject to the posted policy.
